I have set up an email webhook with bounce status but I am not receiving any bounce notification.

To start, have you looked at the scopes required for messaging tracking?
I will double check other setup details, but message blocked notification is similar to how other notifications are generally setup.
Hello @ram, yes I have checked the scopes. I have needed scopes and have created a webhook with various triggers including bounce_detected.
Message created and updated work as expected but bounce detected does not. What I’m doing to test this is that I send an email to a non existant email address. Microsoft replies to my email with a “Your email could not be sent” email but I’m not getting bounce_detected triggers. I have also tried with other email addresses made for bouncing.

Hi @gpapidas - I don’t see a reason a bounce detected would not trigger.
I’m asking around for ways to test this out, can you confirm a few more things
- How is the email being sent?
- Are other webhook triggers being received? View below dashboard available notification logs:
- Are there delays in receiving webhooks?
@gpapidas also can you provide the to/from provider email domains (i.e. @outlook, @gmail, etc)
Hello @ram. Emails are being sent programmatically through Nylas API or through Microsoft Outlook (I have tried both). Emails are sent through [email]@companydomain.com to nonexistantemail@nonexistant.com (a non existant email for hard bounce) or (SoftBounce@bounce-testing.postmarkapp.com) (an email I found for soft bouncing). In all of these, triggers for message created and updated are being sent through webhook (I’ll attach images below). No delays for these webhooks.
Furthermore, microsoft is sending me an email as a reply to notify me that email has bounced. Note: this email that microsoft sends me is in Greek language, I don’t know if behind the scenes you are trying to catch email phrasing to determine if this email is email that notifies the user of bounce happening.
I have also opened a ticket in Nylas support and they have answered the following:
"We have this situation already being handled by our engineering team, I have added this ticket to the current affected queue.
They’re working to bring the soonest solution, in the meantime I’ll set this ticket on hold.
If any question arises please let us have it here to assist while we’re working on this problem. "
